Located 35 minutes from Perth city in Western Australia’s picturesque Swan Valley region lies WA’s premier equestrian facility.  The State Equestrian Centre is 164 acres of prime sporting land positioned on the banks of the serene Swan River and nestled between the beautiful Bells Rapids, world class wineries, top notch restaurants and many more local attractions.  Home to Equestrian Western Australia it supports young riders and elite development squads in their pursuit of equestrian excellence.

Built in 1985 and funded by Federal and State governments and private enterprises, the twelve million dollar property is home to a broad range of equestrian sports such as dressage, show jumping, eventing, hacking, breed shows, polocrosse, harness driving and western activities.  Our outstanding 70mx30m indoor arena provides the ideal setting for any spectator sport with a seating capacity of 2000 including a private box area, conference room and bar which all overlook the arena.  The new Soiltex surfacing was put in in 2009 and provides for fantastic riding. We have two outdoor arenas, the International Arena is a 60×35m all weather sand arena, perfect for dressage training and competition, containing 3 traditional wooden, open faced Judge’s Boxes. The warm up arena is 80×80m with a dirt footing providing great surfacing for show-jumping competitions.

The extensive 25 acre level grass regions make for great temporary outdoor dressage arenas and show jumping rings.  A polocrosse field and an international two star cross country course complete with a derby bank and water jump make up the rest of the impressive grounds.

The centre can provide the perfect weekend training grounds or host for any equestrian show, we also cater for visitors with camping grounds and power stations and a 147 capacity stabling complex.   The stabling complex built in 1985, is completely undercover and was constructed using mesh for open plan housing and has recently been updated to include aluminum stables for more closed in stalls.

The activity of the centre does not stop with horse events; the venue has previously seen a broad range of non-equestrian related activities, anything from vehicle launches, country and western shows, motor cross shows, cattle sales and BMX championships.  It caters for numerous social events with evening cocktail parties being held in the upstairs gallery and 100 people conferences in our spacious boardroom style rooms which overlook the indoor arena.  Many international speakers and presenters have hosted successful evenings using our facilities and we are seeing an increase in many such events.

If you are thinking of holding your event at our beautiful centre then please don’t hesitate to contact our events staff who will tailor any occasion to fit your needs.
